Snowed In

Last weekend Nanna and Poppy treated us to a trip to Salt Fork Lodge. We were all siked to spend some time away from home swimming, playing video games, sled riding, etc. Friday night was GREAT! After facing the quickly falling and accumulating snow, we made it to SF before dinner and enjoyed some swimming and grub. Shortly after settling everyone in bed (Braydon was convinced Big Foot was going to get him but in the morning reminded me that God was with him so we was safe), Poppy's phone rang with the news... The power in the lodge was OUT and a tree had fallen over the main road leading to the lodge. Jason and my dad spent the next 4 hours trecking across the golf course to find the proper tools, and helping a group of employees saw the tree and remove it from the road. By sunrise, the electricity was still out and we found ourselves in a level 3 snow emergency (not legally supposed to drive). The lodge made coffee over sternos and served anything they could without cooking for breakfast. By lunch time we were ready to brave the elements even if it meant breaking the law. With lots of prayer, he headed to Cambridge (luckily a short drive) and spent the afternoon sledding, shoveling, and cooking hotdogs over the fire. What an adventure!!!!
